3. EDUCATOR'S COMPANION GUIDE SPREADING ACROSS CANADA
In 2019, we focused our effort developing the Salaam B'y Educators
Companion Guide with curriculum-based activities to discuss what it
means to be Canadian, tackle the root causes of prejudice and promote
social innovation for students in grades 6-12. We partnered with the
TORONTO DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD, NEWFOUNDLAND & LABRADOR ENGLISH SCHOOL
DISTRICT, and numerous government departments across Canada to join a
community of educators bringing empathy into the classroom. We launched
on October 1st to commemorate Islamic History Month in Canada [14] at
the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto. Since launching, our educator's guide
has been downloaded by over 150+ schools, primarily in Ontario and
Atlantic Canada.
