F.W. Peacock Inuttitut Language Publications

Born in Bristol, England, UK, Frederick William Peacock (1907-1985) began serving as a Moravian Missionary in Northern Labrador in 1935. From 1941 until his retirement in 1971, was the superintendent for all Labrador Moravian missions and was deeply involved in the publishing, broadcasting and public speaking of Labrador Inuktitut (Inuttitut). Relocating to St. John's after his retirement, he worked in Memorial's Department of Linguistics where he prepared a number of publications, many of which focussed upon the documentation, analysis and instruction of Inuttitut.
