Newfoundland House of Assembly and Legislative Council Documents

Journals
There was no Assembly in 1842 and 1847. In 1841 the Colonial Office amalgamated the House of Assembly and Legislative Council and journals for the 3d Assembly, 1843-46, entitled Journal of the General Assembly. The Appendices of these volumes are a rich source of material including financial and customs returns, annual reports of departments and public companies, despatches, petitions and many single reports made to government. Contain an Annual Index, sometimes separate for journal and appendices. The House closed on Feb. 16, 1934 but no Journals were issued in 1934. 1932 and 1933 include Legislative Council Journal. Sessional Papers usually bound with Journal.
