Dr. Margaret Bennett Folklore Collection

Dr Margaret Bennett was one of the first graduate students in the Department of Folklore at Memorial University when it was established in 1969. Her groundbreaking Master's research on the last Scottish Gaelic speaking family of the Codroy Valley, Newfoundland resulted in a lasting connection with the province. This collection contains her ongoing research and friendship with the MacArthur family from 1969 to present day, as well as photographic slides that her father, George Bennett, took when he was working as an engineer in Newfoundland and Labrador in the late 1960s.
