Marine Institute Archival Photographs

This digital collection groups together several archival photograph collections from the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John's.

Upon its founding in 1964, the Institute was named the College of Fisheries, Navigation, Marine Engineering and Electronics, and was based on Parade Street. It moved to its current Ridge Road location in 1985, when the name was changed.

The photographs show students, staff and equipment from the different programs offered by the Institute. There are also some photographs of ships, foreign fisheries and the Russian Higher Marine Engineering School at Murmansk.
