Salvage Fisherman's Museum Community Resources Collection
Since 1969 the Salvage Fisherman's Museum has protected, conserved, and interpreted the history of the local community and the broader Eastport Peninsula,
making it the second oldest community museum in Newfoundland. Over its fifty plus years of operation the museum has acquired a number of documents,
photographs, and resources from various community members. Over the years a number of additional research projects have been conducted by various organisations
and individuals in and across the community, documenting life in Salvage and the Eastport Peninsula.
In fulfillment of the museum's mandate, the goal of the Salvage Fisherman's Museum Community Resources Collection is to make as many historic and research
materials as possible publicly available. By making these materials publicly and digitally available the museum hopes to help maintain and support ongoing
community and genealogical research. The collection is comprised of a series of oral histories, videos, photographs, documents, and records about Salvage and
the Eastport Peninsula collected from community members.
