At certain stages resembling the present-day supermarket tabloid, it published provincial news and other sensational news filler, gossip, sports, entertainment, history, social commentary, advertisements, television and radio listings and other features. In 1948, theHerald campaigned for Ches Crosbie and Responsible Government with economic union with the United States as a final objective.
